Symphonic Band

The Nebraska Wesleyan University Symphonic Band is a distinguished concert ensemble performing works in a variety of musical styles, from traditional band repertoire to contemporary music. It provides personal musical growth opportunities for its members through participation in performances of the highest level.

Jazz Ensemble

The Jazz Ensemble at NWU is by audition only, and gives students the opportunity to learn and gain technique in jazz, latin, rock, and other "fun" styles of music. Meeting three times a week, this group prepares for several concerts each year.

Pep Band

This ensemble plays at several sporting events throughout the year, including football, basketball, and volleyball. The pep band is open to any students on campus, and focuses on pop and rock songs to keep energy up for both fans and athletes alike.

Small Ensembles

Meeting once or twice a week, these small instrumental ensembles focus on the techniques and repertoire designated to each instrument, and takes a closer look at the instrumental families. There is one performance at the end of the semester for each ensemble, but other opportunities for performances include the recorder ensemble and herald trumpets at the annual Elizabethan Feast.
